About
As a visual storyteller I use images to illuminate the unseen.
I work with cyanotype printmaking to create work that explores our reciprocal relationship with the sea through the lens of motherhood, mothering, and the maternal. Rooted in a place based coastal practice, my work is driven by gratitude care and environmental responsibility.
Using natural, organic materials I being by crafting my pieces by hand, drawing out colour and texture from handmade inks and sun exposed cyanotypes.
I then digitally collage my handcrafted work into conceptual images, delivering a visual language that conveys the textured, messy, unseen sides of life: motherhood, parenthood, sisterhood, the power of the feminine and humankind’s connection with and reliance on our natural environment.
An ongoing research interest into the visualisation of matrescence; the physical and psychological process of becoming a mother, underpins much of my work.
Originally from Jersey, I now live on the West Sussex coast with my family. I completed an MA in Illustration (Distinction)(Falmouth University) in 2024.
